ABOUT
These beginner-friendly granny squares are meditative to crochet, yet the two-tone color scheme will keep you engaged until the end. No two squares are the same! A soft, beach-inspired color scheme was the inspiration for this playful throw.

PATTERN NOTES
Skill Level: Easy
Sizing: This blanket is written in one size. If you would like to alter the measurements of the blanket, you can do so by working fewer or additional rounds to each of your squares, or by working additional or fewer squares than worked in this sample.
Stitch Counts: Stitch counts are listed after each round. A full stitch count chart can be found at the bottom of the next page.
Right Side/Wrong Side: The right side is the side facing you as you crochet the very last round of each square.
Turning Chain: The turning chain (ch-3) counts as the first double crochet of each round.
Construction: This blanket is worked in twelve concentric squares that are later joined together using a crochet hook. A simple border is worked last around the perimeter to complete the blanket.
Changing Colors: When changing colors, work the last stitch of the round with the old color, but do not work the final yarn-over to close the stitch. Work this yarn-over with the new color. Then drop the old color, leaving a tail long enough to weave in.
-
You are also welcome to complete your round using your old color, then join your new color to any corner chain space with a standing stitch, if preferred. Just be sure to turn your work to begin your new row in the opposite direction from which you just came.
