The Melrose Market Bag is made from one lacy panel that uses several rows of rapid decreases to convert a rectangle into a pouch. This simple 6-row repeat works up quickly and uses a small amount of yarn – perfect for gifting or selling at craft shows!
Stitch Counts: Stitch counts are listed after each row/rnd in italics. If no stitch count is given, there has been no change since the previous row/rnd.
Reversible: There is no right side or wrong side to this stitch pattern. You choose which side to display as the “right side.”
Construction: You will begin with a rectangle for the the main panel of the bag. Next, you will work a border around each side of this rectangle while also decreasing rapidly to transform your panel into a pouch-like shape. Two straps are worked separately in a spiral and seamed to the short edges of your bag.
