ABOUT
This delicate summer wrap features a lush floral stitch pattern that dances across the fabric, mimicking blooming hibiscus flowers. Designed for a breezy day at the beach or for a little protection from the sun’s rays, this multifunctional wrap can be worn multiple ways; wrap it around your shoulders like a shawl, or drape it over your lap like a blanket.
This is the sister pattern to the Hibiscus Sunglasses Pouch (found here)—a matching pouch using the same lace stitch pattern!

MATERIALS
Yarn: Fingering—WeCrochet Stroll™ in colorway “Dogwood Heather”
- 75% Fine Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon
- 231 yds (211 m) per 1.8 oz (50 g) skein
- Find this yarn on crochet.com or visit yarnsub.com to find comparable substitutes available in your region.
Yardage Required: 9 skeins or approximately 2075 yds (1897 m)
Yarn Substitution: Visit knitsnknots.ca/hibiscus-floral-wrap for an extensive list of yarn substitutes and yarns used during pattern testing. Substitute WeCrochet Stroll with any similar fingering-weight (category #1) yarn that matches gauge. Note that fingering weight is often referred to as “4-ply” in the U.K. and Australia.
Yarn Tip: Because of the intricate lace detail, multicolored yarns such as heavily variegated or speckled yarns may muddle the lace pattern, causing the flowers to become indistinct. For best results, it is recommended to use a solid-colored yarn when working this pattern. Be sure to swatch and block your chosen yarn before beginning as instructed in the Gauge section to ensure you will be happy with the resulting fabric.
Hook: Size U.S. E/4 (3.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
Notions: Tapestry needle and 2 locking stitch markers
GAUGE
Although the same hook size is used throughout this pattern, the gauge for both the floral stitch pattern and the double crochet border is provided for your convenience.
Floral Pattern Gauge: Complete the swatch as instructed below.
For Swatch
FDC 45.
Place a st marker into the 4th st from each end of your foundation ch (2 markers total) to mark off the border.

10 cm) = 24 dc and 12 rows

PATTERN NOTES
Skill Level: Intermediate
Stitch Counts: Stitch counts are listed after each row. If no stitch count is given, there has been no change since the previous row.
Reversible: There is no right side or wrong side to this fabric; both sides are identical. You choose which side to display as the “right side.”
Turning Chain: The turning chain does not count as a stitch.
Tension: Try to avoid stitching the floral section at a tighter tension than your double crochet border.
Construction: This rectangular wrap is worked lengthwise, beginning with a solid double crochet border before transitioning to an eight-row repeat to create the lacy floral pattern. A solid border is added last to match the one at the beginning.
