ABOUT
Written in 5 sizes for the whole family, the Kenaston Toque might just be the easiest hat you ever make! In this pattern, you will essentially crochet a rectangle of ribbing that tapers off slightly at one end to create a gently sloping crown that also adds structure to hold your pompom securely in place!
MATERIALS
Yarn: Worsted—Lion Brand Wool-Ease in Umber
- 80% acrylic, 20% wool
- 197 yds (180 m) per 3 oz (85 g) skein
- Find this yarn on lionbrand.com or visit yarnsub.com to find comparable substitutes
Yardage: 1 (2, 2, 2, 2) skein(s) of Wool-Ease, or
175 (200, 240, 275, 300) yds
160 (183, 219, 251, 275) m
Substitute Lion Brand Wool-Ease with any similar category 4 (worsted) medium weight yarn that matches gauge. Always swatch with your chosen yarn and hook combination before beginning to ensure you are happy with the resulting fabric.
Hook: Size U.S. 7 (4.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
Notions: Tapestry needle, several locking stitch markers to help with seaming (optional), pompom maker (sample shown uses a Clover brand 3⅜" pompom maker)
